How it works

The training request process has recently been changed and is currently under review to ensure it aligns more closely with the business’ strategic priorities and supports employee professional development. Moving forward, our Senior Leaders and Managers will play a crucial role in identifying and prioritising the training needs of their teams.

This shift has been implemented to ensure that learning and development effort are focused, relevant, and contribute directly to both individual growth and the organisation's long-term goals.

Further updates will be shared as the process is refined.

For any safety critical training that is due to expire, you will receive a reminder and an invitation to attend an event to keep your certificate up to date. We do ask that you consider whether or not your role still requires you to be in date for the certificate. If the certificate is no longer a requirement of your role, please advise us so that we can remove you from future reminders.

For the time being, the Optimus portal is available for booking onto dates following an invitation to register from either Optimus or the HR / L&D team in conjunction with the 2025 – 2026 Training Plan.
