Description

Defence Systems Approach to Training (DSAT) Element 1 – Analysis

This course is designed to provide the delegate with a high level of understanding of the Systems Approach to Training (SAT) coupled with a more detailed understanding of the Training Needs Analysis (TNA) process. The fundamental principles are established and then built upon using a combination of presentation techniques, informal delegate instructor interaction and formal scripted exercises.

The course begins by explaining the principles of the SAT and the Defence Systems Approach to Training (DSAT). The subsequent modules address the concept and the phases of TNA in more detail including exercises to reinforce the principles. The final module of the course gives the delegates a brief tour of the JSP 822 standard with a focus on the structure of the document, it’s history and any recent updates.

Defence Systems Approach to Training (DSAT) Element 2 – Design

This course is designed to provide the delegate with a high level of understanding of the course design (CD) process coupled with a more detailed understanding of the topics that should be taken into consideration. The important topics are introduced through instructor-led presentation before being reinforced in group exercises.

Training courses are produced in accordance with the Defence Systems Approach to Training (DSAT) and as a result of the comprehensive TNA from which individual training objectives are provided to the course designer. This course begins by reinforcing the links between the TNA outputs and the course design process before introducing the delegate to the three stages of course design. A detailed discussion around the broad considerations for the design process leads into an in depth tour through the course design process itself.
