Introduction to MoD Procurement

Defence contracts for the UK are currently regulated by law within the Defence & Security Public Contracts Regulations 2011 (DSPCR 2011). The law governs how contracts are competed and placed in the defence and security sector, albeit the biggest changes ever to be made to this legislation are about to be approved through Parliament.

The Corporate Award is an applied learning route to MCIPS and has 2 levels- Practitioner and Advanced Practitioner level. Successful completion of the Practitioner level leads to Diploma status and once this level has been achieved the cohort would then move on to the Advanced Practitioner level and, subject to 3 years’ experience in a responsible procurement position, successful completion at Advanced Practitioner level results in MCIPS.
